Embark on an unforgettable journey through the heart of Africa with our Botswana Expedition. From the bustling city of Johannesburg to the breathtaking landscapes of the Magadigadi Salt Pans, this adventure promises a rich tapestry of experiences that will leave you with cherished memories.

 

Buffalo Thorn Safari Lodge - Into the African Bush:

Buffalo Thorn Safari Lodge is our first stop over 4 hours from Jhb on our way to the Botswana border, nestled in the heart of the African bush. Arrive in the afternoon to the enchanting sounds of nature, followed by a magical dinner under the stars.

 

Woodlands Stop over and Lodge Campsite (2 nights):

We head to Francistown and set up camp in Woodlands campsite for two nights.  This is our first night in the tents. 

 

Magical Kubu Island and the Magadigadi Salt Pans:

Embark on an adventure to Kubu Island on the expansive Magadigadi salt pans. Set your alarm and watch the sun rise from the moon.. so still. Explore unique rock formations, the Boabab trees as they come to life in the sun followed by camping under the starlit African sky.

Island Safari Lodge in Maun:

Drive to Maun and check-in at the Island Safari Lodge on the Thamalakane River. Relax by the lodge pool, take an optional boat cruise down the Okavango Delta, and savour a dinner surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature.

 

Wildlife-rich Moremi Game Reserve:

Enter the Moremi Game Reserve at Third Bridge and enjoy a game drive in one of Africa's most wildlife-rich reserves. Camp in the heart of Moremi, sharing bush tales around the campfire.

 

Savuti's Predators and Vast Landscapes:

Journey to Chobe Game Reserve's Savuti region and experience a game drive in a landscape known for its predators. Camp under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the wilderness.

 

Chobe River Cruise (not included in pricing) and Optional Adventures in Kasane:

Choose between chalet or camping accommodation in Kasane and enjoy a sunset river cruise on the Chobe River. Opt for a day of relaxation or explore nearby Victoria Falls or join a guided walking safari.

 

Nata Lodge - Sunset Over the Sowa Pan:

Drive to Nata Lodge against the stunning backdrop of the Sowa Pan. Set up camp, or enjoy the luxury of a lodge. Relish a traditional Botswana braai, and witness a mesmerizing sunset over the pan.

 

Khama Rhino Sanctuary - A Haven for Rhinos:

Visit the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, a haven for endangered rhinos. Embark on a game drive to witness rhino conservation efforts and share campfire stories reflecting on the incredible wildlife experiences.

Return to Buffalo Thorn Lodge:

Return to where the journey began at Buffalo Thorn Lodge. Relax with a nature walk and savor a farewell dinner, celebrating the completion of an extraordinary adventure.

 

Drive Back to Johannesburg - A Bittersweet Farewell:

On the final day, drive back to Johannesburg, returning the 4x4s. Depart or opt for an optional overnight stay for those with late flights, bidding a fond farewell to the enchanting landscapes and memories of Botswana.
